So good!! Had an incredible Thanksgiving meal here. The cocktails were unique and tasty. The service was impeccable and beyond professional! The food was delicious but not overly heavy. The presentation was skillful. After dinner it was nice to have a walk through Lafayette park.

A treasure! Wonderful place to eat, right by The White House. The service is excellent, my server always made sure I was satisfied with my meal. The ambiance chic and elegant. The food was just the right portion. It may look small but let me tell you I left pleasantly satisfied. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Will definitely come back again.

La Bise is in the same space as the Oval Room, another French restaurant. My dining companion said she read that the two restaurants are or were affiliated. We visited because my dining companion said she had wanted to try La Bise for some time, and it was near her office. The restaurant is nicely decorated. We started with Gougeres, puff pastry filled with cheese. Delicious. I could have made a meal out of the appetizer (if there were more of them per serving.). For a main course, we ordered the Alaska Black Cod and Grilled Snapper. The snapper came with a coconut-lobster bisque. Highly recommend the bisque. The snapper was a little fishy but the Cod was exquisite and fresh. Our server was a delight. We did not order dessert but she brought us bite-sized cookies; peanut butter fudge, snickerdoodles, and a strawberry something. She said that if we ate all three at the same time, it would taste like the best PB&J ever. The restaurant charges a 20 percent gratuity, like a number of D.C. restaurants.

A few colleagues and I grabbed dinner at La Bise while in DC for work. I got the salad, sea bass and dessert. Every dish was delicious. I found myself admiring my boss’ Spanish octopus, which according to her, was also delicious. The service was amazing! The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, which unfortunately seems to be a rarity. The reservation was under my name, and the maitre d' made a concerted effort to acknowledge me by name. Needless to say, I will return.

This place was amazing! The decor was modern chic, everyone was attentive to our needs without hovering. The food was as delicious as it was beautiful! The salad was perfectly crisp and fresh with Gorgonzola and plum and a light but flavorful dressing. We shared one and were so pleasantly surprised that they split it for us. It was of perfect size. I highly recommend the black cod. It was buttery with a thin and crispy, well seasoned skin. The sauce surrounding it was so velvety with just the right amount of richness and texture from the roe. My daughter had the duck, which was cooked perfectly with lots of surrounding flavors. She only wished there were a bit more duck on her plate. The desert was a piece of art with a honeycomb lace topping, crisp meringue, and a burst of fruit flavor with every bite. We dined at another local restaurant the next night with a Michelin star and I must say I was disappointed to say the least. I totally expect La Bise to become Michelin star soon. It was by far the best restaurant I’ve dined in both creativity, beauty, and flavor, and at such a fair price.

First time dining here with friends over the weekend and the food and service was stellar! The restaurant was busy but we still had at least 2 servers always close by and very attentive. Food was presented so well and the taste/flavor was amazing! Great wine selection too!

My family and I made a snap decision to visit La Bise over another dinner reservation at the last minute, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of the dishes, the enthusiasm and engagement of the staff as well as the cozy but elegant layout of the restaurant interior. I enjoyed the fillet minion, and my parents the recommended Alaska Black Cod and the Rohan Duck Calvados. The steak was succulent and tender— cooked to the medium rare perfection I requested, and my only ask would that I wish there was more of it! The cod was light and flakey with a rich Kelly green sauce with pops of smoked trout roe, and the duck (our favourite by consensus) was rendered beautifully and balanced expertly with plump acidic notes throughout. For desserts, we ordered the souffle and the Death by Hazelnut — both decadent but the latter had the slight edge! My thanks to all the servers and chefs for a lovely evening, and to the mister charming behind the bar too. Cheers!
